Home town love

I am still on a high from my weekend performing in the Okanagan. Friday night in Kelowna I played with my trio at the Minstrel Cafe on Lakeshore Rd. The crowd was small but appreciative. But Saturday’s show at the Vernon Jazz Club was almost sold out! What a lovely audience, and I enjoyed playing with the full band so much. It was great to see some “blasts from my past” come out to the show, I really felt some home town love.

I was particularly happy with my original set, and how the crowd responded to my own songs. Thanks so much to Loni, Bernie, and Rich for making my music sound so good! It’s always such a pleasure to play with those guys. I wish we lived a little closer. Sandy Cameron was my special guest on sax for the final set of the evening, and we swung it hard. Lots of fun.

The Vernon Morning Star ran a nice article, here’s the link.
