It’s early March and spring is here! So lovely to be on the coast to enjoy the early flowers, new grass, and bird song this soon in the year. When the sun comes out and a fresh breeze caresses my face from the Pacific Ocean, well it’s downright equinoxicating!
Flora was the Roman Goddess of Spring and presided over the festival of flowers, Floralia. So although I am an autumn’s child by birth, I still resonate with this season and the plant kingdom for which I was named. If you haven’t had fresh flowers in your home for a while, I suggest you do. They are, quite simply, a joy for the senses. Lilies are my favourite, for their scent and bold colours. In flower language, they mean “I dare you to love me.”
Good things are coming up on the horizon for me. I have 7 concerts in April, and 1 confirmed so far for May. It will be fun to play gigs all over the province. Check out my upcoming shows page for more details, I may be playing somewhere close to you.
I am also very happy to announce that I am a recipient of a FACTOR Demo Grant! This means I will have the funds to go back into the recording studio. I am so grateful for this support, and it comes at a good time to encourage me to continue on my musical path. My goal to release a new all-original EP (meaning 4 or 5 tracks) is now looking unrealistic. However, I am excited that I will at least be able to release a new single this summer!
In the mean time I am trying to perform as often as I can, and continue writing new music. I’ve recently started work on 3 new songs, and I hope that they will soon make it into my live shows.
Wishing you all a happy springtime, thanks for reading!
